The 3rd Annual General Meeting of the Abia Online Media Publishers (OMPAN) will be held on Friday 12th December 2025 at the Umuahia North Local Government Area Multipurpose Hall.
The organization made this known through Ugochukwu Nwankwo, the Chairman of the planning committee and former chairman of the organization.
According to Nwankwo, the event which has the Theme: The Impact of AI on Media and Journalism, will seek to X-ray the effects of this novel innovation on Media Practice as a genre.
He said the theme was carefully chosen to align with the current realities of media practitioners, where most are neck deep in the use of AI”.
Adding his voice, the Chairman of the Organization, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro, said that this year’s event will be unique because it will come with a training session for both members, intending members and the general public.
According to OMPAN, the event will have a foremost IT Specialist and Practitioner Dr. Pastra Arinze Etie as the Guest speaker while The Member representing Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency Hon Obi Aguocha will be the Chairman of the Occasion.
The event is expected to shape participants and usher in a positive direction on the use of AI in the media industry.
