Abia comes Tops as Pasty Elite Schools Aba Student Wins NDLEA Essay Competition

Abia State was once again in the spotlight as a student of Patsy Elite Schools Aba, Master Chrysolite Chibuike Promise, on Wednesday June 26th, 2024, emerged winner of the second edition of the NDLEA Inter Secondary School Essay competition.

The Essay competition titled “Influence of Social Media in promoting Drug Abuse Among Young People”, was contested by students from secondary schools across the country.

Winners of the Essay competition was announced at the commemoration of the 2024 edition of the United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, held at the state house Conference Center Abuja, the Federal capital Territory.

The 14 year old Master Promise emerged victorious ahead of students from Nasarawa and Ebonyi states who came second and third respectively.

The trophy and an award of N500,000 was presented to Master Promise by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, who represented president Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Event.

Expressing his excitement, Promise thanked God for granting him the grace to win the competition.

 

He thanked his parents for the opportunity to study at Patsy Elites Schools which he described as the best foundation for a growing child.

He appreciated the proprietor of the school who he described as a mother who he said instills not just discipline but hard work in her students.

Expressing her excitement, the proprietor of the School, Mrs Patience Igwebuike, represented by the school’s consultant on media and communication, Amara Igwebuike Agugoesi, said Promise’s success is an honour to her school.

She said though she was not surprised owing to the level of academic work that Patsy Elite Schools put her students through, she was however Happy that Promise did not disappoint, and assured that her school will continue to make Abia Proud in line with Governor Alex Otti’s vision for a high standard education in the state.

The event was attended by the leadership of the NDLEA, United Nations, stakeholders and top government officials.
