Just as normalcy returned to the Aba the commercial nerve centre of Abia state, following an attack on soldiers by unknown assailants, another attack has reportedly taken place in the city leading to the death of two policemen, and another injured.
According to the report, men of the Nigerian police force at a check point were ambushed at Opobo Road, Ogbor Hill area of the city by unidentified gun men, killing two police officers and carted away their weapons.
According to the report, the assault occurred around 6 pm on Friday, when the assailants reportedly arrived at the scene in a Toyota Sienna and launched a fierce attack on the police post.
The scene is said to be chaotic and terrifying, with the assailants fleeing the area unscathed, after the attack.
The slain officers were said to be attached to the nearby Azuka Police Divisional Headquarters in Ogbor Hill, Aba.
