In a significant development for local governance in Abia State, the Deputy Mayors under the aegis of Deputy Mayors’ Forum (DMF) on Monday July 21, elected its executive members.
The election took place at a meeting held in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, marking a new chapter in collaborative governance.
The newly elected leaders are:
1. Chairman – Hon. Destiny Chikwurah Isiguzo, Ph.D (Obingwa LGA)
2. Deputy Chairman – Hon. Mrs Ngozi Anya (Bende LGA)
3. Secretary – Hon. Barr. Enyinnaya Nwosu (Umuahia South)
4. Public Relations Officer – Hon. Lucky Awuwa (Ikwuano LGA)
5. Financial Secretary – Hon. Ifeanyi Njoko (Isiukwuato LGA)
6. Treasurer – Hon. Vivian Obilor (Isiala Ngwa South LGA)
According to the forum, the leadership team is poised to harness the collective expertise and experience of deputy mayors across Abia State, driving initiatives that enhance citizen welfare and promote local development.
