Governor Otti Mourns Nollywood Actor Alex Ekubo
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, describing it as a painful loss to Nigeria’s entertainment industry and the nation.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti said Ekubo passed at a time when his artistic and humanitarian contributions were still flourishing.
“The late actor’s talent, creativity, and dedication inspired many young Nigerians to pursue their dreams in Nollywood and beyond,” Otti stated.
He noted that the death of the Arochukwu Born actor leaves a significant vacuum in the movie industry.
The governor recalled his own support for Nollywood during his tenure as a bank chief executive, when he sponsored activities aimed at developing talent in the sector.
Otti commended Ekubo’s family and close associates for standing by him and managing his health throughout his illness. He urged Abians and Nigerians to bear the loss with courage and faith, and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
Ekubo’s family announced his death following a prolonged battle with cancer.
