Following the completion of the long abandoned Portharcourt road in Aba by the Alex Otti led administration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to visit the state on May 23 to commission the newly reconstructed 6.5-kilometre Road.

The once-dilapidated road which was abandoned for over 15 years now wears a new look following a major reconstruction work by the construction giants Julius Berger.

The coming of the president was revealed by the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, during an inspection tour of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, specifically the Osisioma axis of the Abia Tower of Peace to Rail Flyover section currently under reconstruction.

Umahi also commended Governor Alex Otti for the completion and impressive quality of the Port Harcourt Road project, describing it as a transformational feat.

Recall, Governor Otti had hinted during the monthly media chat with journalists tagged “Alex Otti Speaks to Abians” held early May, that he hoping that President Tinubu will do the state the honour of commissioning the road.

President Tinubu’s upcoming visit is expected to further solidify Federal-State collaboration on infrastructure and development, while spotlighting Governor Otti’s impactful performance in office.
